Privacy & cookie policy
The short version: we keep as little as possible, we don’t sell your data, and your uploads are deleted quickly.
Cookies
WhatFlik uses only strictly-necessary cookies and local storage: a Firebase sign-in session (so you stay logged in) and a flag that remembers you dismissed the cookie notice. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Because these are essential to signing in and running the site, they are on by default; if we ever add optional analytics, we’ll ask first.
What we store
If you create an account we store your email, a display name and @handle you choose, your plan, and the searches you run while signed in. Your searches, reviews, and posts are yours; you can edit your profile any time on the account page.
Your uploads
Screenshots you add are used only to identify your title. Large images are compressed in your browser before they ever leave your device, and raw files are stored in a private bucket and deleted within the hour, we keep only derived clues (short text summaries and tags), never your raw media long-term.
Third parties
We use Google Firebase for sign-in and storage, and movie data comes from The Movie Database (TMDB) and Wikipedia. We never sell your personal data.
Your rights
You can download everything we hold about your account as a JSON file, and you can permanently delete your account and data, both from your account settings. When you delete your account we remove your profile, reviews, posts, finds, and searches; we keep payment records only where required for accounting and fraud prevention.
